Dear Blog,

I am at home as I write this. On broadband.

Actually, I am not sitting inside my house. I am seated on the grass outside my home, right between the driveway and the neighbor’s yard. Bugs have expressed their appreciation for my computer. But I am on broadband!!!!!

My father discovered this. We were about to drive off to go to a restaurant as a weekly divorcee-bonding exercise, but prior to that, my sister decided to text message the entire population of the town (or at least the male population of it), and my father decided to check the status of his dating site inbox(es). Before and after the whole feeling bored and left out thing, I asked my father what connection he was on and then grabbed my computer to briefly see if, standing next to the driveway, I too could pick up the signal. And I did! Wooooooo!

Now I suppose that instead of spending my lonely mornings and afternoons in bed staring at the ceiling, I shall spend them on the grass outdoors. That poses a bit of a problem, though–ever since it looked like some guy was trying to follow me home from high school, I have been paranoid about being outside by myself. I do not think I am going to die immediately, but…well, the fact that a car just drove by scares the crap out of me. Okay…it pulled into a neighbor’s driveway. Good. Probably just a neigbor who does not care about my existence.

Oh, shoot…rain. Hang in there, computer! If you survived grape juice, you can deal with rain!
